Episode Summary:

This episode is one of my “Moments of Truth” episodes, where I describe one of those pivotal moments in my life where my perspective permanently changed.

As we all know, hindsight can be 20/20, and when I look back on my life I’m able to identify some of these moments where everything I had thought was true, ended up not really fitting for me anymore… these are some of the moments in my life where I changed as a person and my perspective shifted for the better.

In this episode we’ll be talking about the moment I realized what being a parent really means to me.  We all become a parent the day our first child joins our family.  But it took me a little time to realize what taking on that role would really mean in my life.  So today I want to go through the process I went through, some of the discoveries I made about myself and about my role as a parent, and I’ll talk a bit about how this shift in my perspective really changed the way I approached being a parent forever.  This was my experience, so this may or may not apply to you.  But I like to share these things in case you can relate and can take away some new insights for yourself.

What You’ll Learn in This Episode:

  • You’ll hear my personal story of feeling like a complete failure early in my parenting journey.
  • I share the “Aha Moment” that changed how I felt about my role as a parent, and forever shifted the way I interact with my son.
  • You’ll hear my biggest takeaways as a result from this painful period of my life.
